Abstract

In this paper we illustrate the special and important relationship between ethics and interviewer training. We demonstrate through an examination of the literature the value and underutilization of this type of training. We apply three ethical perspectives and utilize the interviewing literature to examine if organizations who fail to provide this type of training are being unethical. Finally we suggest how framing the need to provide interviewer training as an organization's ethical responsibility can provide mutually beneficial to both areas.
