Description
Alberta Mattingly was a student at Michigan State Normal College in the 1930s before she became a professor of Physical Education at MSNC. In this interview conducted by Claudia Wasik, Mattingly recounts her first impressions of MSNC, and her first campus job as a babysitter for an Ypsilanti resident. Growing up with parents who did not value a college education, Mattingly describes her role with the Normal News, the student newspaper of Michigan State Normal College.
