Program and Teaching Materials [Series V]

Tenure track faculty lines in academia follow a process of multiple layers of evaluation. Faculty submit applications for tenure and promotion that detail at length their achievements in scholarship, service and teaching. These detailed accounts include supporting documents as proof of the stated achievements. Once submitted, an evaluation committee in the home department reviews and makes recommendations to the department head, who in turn makes recommendations to the college dean. At Eastern Michigan University the Provost reviews these applications for tenure and promotion and ultimately moves them forward to the Board of Regents for approval. Materials related to Dr. Brown-Chappell's application for tenure and her supporting documents are available, researchers are asked to contact the University Archives directly. [lib_archives@emich.edu] Materials include syllabi, handouts, overheads, advising materials, grade sheets, letters of reference, and transparencies. All copyright materials were not scanned for inclusion, but are available for review in the Eastern Michigan University Archives. Administrative Release Work is also included and documents Dr. Brown-Chappell's work in the Bachelor of Social Work British Exchange Program, student recruitment for the Bachelor of Social Work Program and lastly Brown-Chappell's McNair Scholars Program administrative duties.
