Abstract
Innovation continues to play a crucial role in helping businesses grow and sustain their market shares. Innovation takes place in different parts and functions of the business and it is important to understand how to create and management it effectively. Digital technologies continue to be used more and more within businesses and this is resulting in more ‘digitized’ workplaces that necessitate the need to innovate more in order to maintain a lead position in the marketplace. Digitizing workplaces has changed the way business is normally run and managed and this has also impacted how innovation should be embraced and managed within such a new digital business environment. The chapter provides an overview about innovation in the digital business environment focusing on about types of technological innovation, the concept of digital business, its enablers, barriers, strategies and best practices for achieving technological innovation in a business environment. The chapter provides a good reference for businesses about how to effectively create and manage technological innovation when more digital workplaces are adopted.
