Abstract
Patients with neurocognitive disorders, such as mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s or Lewy body’s disease, commonly receive medical care in integrated care settings. Here, behavior health specialists have unique opportunities to monitor and intervene on those aspects of neurobehavioral health that allow individuals with cognitive decline to maintain quality of life. The following chapter provides a general introduction to cognitive lossand maps out how behavioral health specialists can support adults with neurocognitive disorders and their care partners, from early detection and tertiary prevention to addressing potential emotional or behavioral changes. Resources for the use with patients are offered.
