Abstract
This article examines two anti-military court cases that took place in Hokkaido during the 1960s and 1970s and their legacy today. It demonstrates how protesters against Japan’s Self-Defense Forces developed the notion of the right to live in peace through a creative interpretation of the Constitution. [Article abstract]
