Abstract
FAM129B is a protein important for cell invasion. It has a molecular weight of 83 kDa (AA1-746). FAM129B is a target of the MAPK cascade and may promote cell invasion by suppressing apoptosis. The protein was purified in E. coli, and methods that include affinity chromatography and gel filtration were used to characterize its structure. The possible effects of two new melanoma drugs, Trametinib and Dabrafenib, were also investigated.
