Abstract
Development of a capstone Mechanical Engineering course into a writing-intensive course. In this paper, a recent successful experience in developing the senior Mechanical Engineering capstone course to be a writing-intensive course is presented. The developer worked directly with the university writing center to present a detailed narrative, assessment plan, and a detailed structure of writing-intensive eligible course content. The paper presents six outcomes proposed to develop writing-intensive capstone courses. A proposed assessment tools of the six outcomes are also presented.
