Abstract
Back in the saddle again -- for the first time in over ten years, LOEX headed back to the Lone Star State for the 39th annual LOEX conference to discuss some best practices and ideas in library instruction and information literacy. Over 300 librarians joined us May 5-7 at the fabulous Omni Fort Worth Hotel in Texas to learn and converse with their fellow librarians.
The volunteers on the conference planning committee are the ones who work with me for over a year to make sure all the moving parts of the conference fit together and run smoothly, and this year we added the Friday evening dine-arounds, which took a lot of work but was a great success. This team effort was led by conference co-chairs Eric Frierson (St. Edward’s University) and Gretchen Trkay (UT Arlington), along with fellow planning committee members Beth Avery (University of North Texas), Suzanne Beckett (UT Arlington), Rebecca Graff (SMU), Susie Kutchi (UT Dallas), Mary Jo Lyons (UT Arlington) and Loreen Phillips (UT Dallas). A great deal of thanks to all of them and anyone else who helped with the conference.
A final thank you to all the presenters - they come from all over North America to share their work, and I am always impressed by their insights and their creativity (and not just in the puns many of them manage to fit into their session titles). Please enjoy perusing their papers from the 39th annual LOEX Conference: Fiesta de Excelencia: Celebrating Excellence in Library Instruction.
