Abstract

A typewritten, two-page original copy of a paper labeled "Questions, June 17." The questions are about The Traces of Thomas Hariot and other works, and about people such as Cyril Stanley Smith, Ann Burlak, and Isidor Schneider. Louise Kertesz wrote several notes on the two pages. Questions on page two refer to Rebecca Pitts, Houdini, and Rexroth's observation in With Eye & Ear, that "most of the old poetic establishment and their new recruits wrote little poetry during the war. In their comfortable roomettes on the propaganda gravy train they were too busy turning our redundant packages of unusable morale builders to have time for poetry, notoriously an expression of conscience."
